Wow, it's been nearly six months since I last posted here. I can't beleive I completely forgot about this site. I have been working a lot on improving my art but I still don't feel confident in making a comic. I am good at doing one picture by itself but when I try to draw the same character over and over in different poses and try to do backgrounds, it ends up looking terrible, well maybe not that bad but not super great either. I also don't have a lot of confidence in my writing skills. I have no idea how much is too much to add and what might be missing. I want people to be able to follow and understand the story but I also don't want them to get bored with too much backstory. I feel like I have good ideas but I just don't have the confidence to continue working on comics or the determination to keep up with them. If I had a writing/art partner I might continue but for now I will stick to just art though it is frustrating to not be able to see my ideas as a illustrated story like those I like to read.
Commissions are still open as well. I like drawing other peoples characters, it gives me good practice and is a lot of fun. So if you have something you want me to draw just give me as many details as possible and I will do my best.
One of these days I will finally finish a calender, I suppose I will have to wait and release it for next year. I am still working hard to improve my backgrounds and the shading and details in my drawings. I have a tendency to be lazy and fast so I am trying to work on that. I have also been trying to draw more boys since I almost always draw girls, and I feel they are starting to look more like boys.
If anyone is interested in art tips and such, I love helping people so don't hesitate to ask. I also would love to hear comments or even critisism on my work. If I want to improve, I need to know what I am doing wrong and what I could be doing better.

I've been debating this back and forth but decided to go ahead and advertise that I was open for commissions. I mainly draw females but can draw males if I have some kind of reference. The more details you can give me the better about what you want. Just look at the pics so far that I've done to decide what kind of pic you want. Like do you want chibi, regular, will it have a detailed background or just a color. Right now I don't have a good way to get money for my work so you guys luck out and get my work for free. Once finished you can either simply fave the work. When I get a way to get paid I will think about ways to send the full rez pic but for now this will have to do. I am running low on inspiration so would love to get ideas and get out of my funk with something new. Once I draw something you can use it for lots of things, an avatar, I can do icons, wallpapers, character drawings for rps or novels or whatever. The more references for things and details the better. Now I am not super fast but I can have a sketch or rough draft up within a week most of the time and get the colored version done not long after, and no longer than a month. So you can either message me or comment here or on my profile with what you want. I don't often check my email so putting it on the main profile page where I will see it right away is a good option.

So far this site seems interesting but I really wish there was a way to search by genre or something. It seems difficult to find something in your circle of interest. There are so many manga here and I definately don't want to have to look at each of them to try to find the one I might like. I am pretty picky about what I like. I tend to lean toward fantasy romance though I do occasionally read sci fi. I can't stand horror or lots of violence and I do not like same sex romance.
I have been thinking a lot about my own manga and have had writers block for a while now. I listened to a blog on "Paper Wings" site about writing but it was too long and I stopped listening halfway through. I read a couple columns and it talked about having a theme and that all the characters have to revolve around that theme and such. I already had a theme and tend to have themes in most of my work but I just get so bogged down in how much I need to accurately show the theme and get people to be interested in the character without giving them too much and boring them to death. I wrote an emotion graph to get an idea of how the emotions of the two main characters would change and wrote a blurg of their inner struggles but the problem is how to get the outer struggles and the main conflict and bring it all together.
The first idea I had about the story was simple. I wanted a manga that had all the juicy smutty scenes I loved. that was the main idea. Then I created the main character and the basic plot. Which is basically Alexis Tyler is famous and because of some reasons disguises herself and enters public school under an alias. A boy finds out who she is and blackmails her.
I have all these ideas floating around to try and deepen the plot. The boys father is a mob boss and wants his son to take over. For some reason Alexis gets involved and things get dangerous. The boy protects her but has to betray his father. Very vague but it's the basic idea.
Alexi's mother is famous and wanted Alexis to be famous too. Alexis doesn't do as well as her mother wanted and her mother pretty much abandons her. Alexis' father is nice and spoils her to make up for the mother leaving. So Alexis becomes a little spoiled, and arrogant.
I just have no idea how best to bring this all together into a coherant story. I really need help but haven't really had enough yet. I have the script here http://www.webook.com/project/Double-Life-manga
And the manga version so far here http://www.smackjeeves.com/comicprofile.php?id=50855
I also have a DA account here http://gaiadarkstar.deviantart.com/ if anyone wants to check it out.

I am married with two young kids and in my thirties but I absolutely love gaming, anime, manga and much more. I tend to lean toward sci-fi and fantasy and romance.
I actually grew up around gamers, my mother and uncles used to play D&D in our dining room. I can still remember wanting to be up there too but at the time I was too young. Now I have two gaming groups going and it is almost always a blast.
It's funny when I used to watch cartoons on tv like speedracer, thundercats, Voltron and such I had no idea that it was anime. I just enjoyed watching them. I didn't officially become a fan until I saw Sailor moon. Now, I know some think it's silly but I loved it and after that I couldn't get enough and started to devour all the anime and manga I could. My hubby, my bf at the time, has a friend who collects anime so he had a rather large collection. I watched KOR, FLCL, Rayearth, Slayers, Outlaw star, Princess Mononoke, and many others.
I love reading, writing, and art, and drama, singing, and dancing, sewing. I have a few novels in the works and one major manga in developement but I don't have enough confidence in my writing right now so who knows when I will work on them. I am constantly drawing. I can't get enough of my great new Intuit tablet.
I don't know what else to say. I am honest, sometimes too blunt for my own good, but I don't usually mean anything bad. I am easygoing with a little bit of a dirty mind and I don't offend easily.
