  Have you read Lynn Flewelling´s "Nightrunner" series? It´s fantasy with m/m relationships but that´s just a part of the story; the main plot it´s a very good one, full of adventure. I totally recommend them.

  Moonlight Apparition When Jason and his friends Robbie and Toby go wandering into the forest behind  Jason's house, they find an odd stone building in ruins. In the center is a well with a rather strange moon design. However, when Jason falls through and the other boys become surrounded by strange creatures called 'shades' they find themselves in the midst of a secret world of mythical creatures that no one knew existed. Things take an even bigger twist when an ancient power awakens inside Jason as he takes on the role of the Moonlight Apparition.
