    Who we are? Who’s Panda?

As you can read in our profile, Pandapon Studio is a team. We are from Spain, and live together in Parla (a small town near Madrid). Yes, we live together (with our 3 cats) because we are a married couple (mind you) In this team, Panda (the one writing this) is in charge of the script, and Kamapon draws, inks, tones and do all the hard work :P Well, I work hard too, but my creative process is kind of chaotic and spontaneous. In fact I spend most of this "working process" reading, playing or...

TMBMM #2 "Popularity, Spam and Success"

Hello everyone~, welcome to my second blog post in the Top Mistakes Beginning Mangaka Make. This time, I'm bringing up a topic I hadn't intended to bring up until later... But in light of some recent events which I'm not going to mention explicitly, I thought it might be worthwhile to get this out in the open. Again, I disclaim that these are only my opinions, and mine alone. I don't pretend to be an expert on any of these topics, and I hereby give you all the right to agree or disagree with ...

    Who are we? Who’s Kamapon?

Hi hi! Kamapon here. As Panda had his own blog entry I thought it was about time I introduced myself properly *evil laugh*   ME! (and my three catsXD) So, I’m Kamapon, artist of Pandapon Studio! (=A=)/ That means I’m behind all that doodles I call art XD I’m a 26 years old, female Spanish girl that likes cats, cooking, music and drawing above all else. So, as Panda said, we’re husband and wife, yes, and we make a terrific combo; He writes the plots, I draw them, I cook, he eats it…see? Perfec...

    First steps

Hello everybody! I'm Panda, the team's writer. Today it's my turn to explain a little bit about the Hunters’ story so far. It's a long one, that starts back on 2006 At first, Midnight Hunters was designed to be published in a brand new Spanish magazine about manga. It was supposed to be the "Spanish Shonen Jump", with monthly chapters of the most valued series. I had to write a closed storyline in 150 pages. Yeah, it needed to be a one shot volume divided in 10 chapters of 15 pages and with...

    How to make a comic

AKA. how Petitecreme slogs through her story.   To be honest I haven't been doing comics for that long. I first started doing comics with friends in schools, drawing a terrible square on a peice of paper, fill it in and pass it on. Probably around 2008 I started trying to do it like everyone else. Doing fancomics and doujinshies of DMC for friends and for personal pleasure. Studying overseas in Blegium in 2010, doing French comics put me in my place. I'm still not a good comic artist. but I l...

Edit- I don't know where else to say this but, Thanks to the MM Staff for mentioning this blog post along with other great ones in your newsletter. :) Another blog so soon!! This time I pulled out my g-pen to get a little work done. I'll have to get use to it soon, my oneshot concept and characters are pretty much ready to go. Makes me wonder though, what's your favorite tool for making manga? Doesn't matter if it's digital or traditional.

    Our tools of the trade!

EDIT: A couple of typos have been edited ^^u Sorry. Many of you have asked us what kind of program we use to create our manga, especially for inking. Well, Meru feels really flattered for that! But she uses no programs for inking, at least for now. She sketches and inkes all by hand :) Only recently she´s begun to use IllustStudio and sometimes Mangastudio, but she´s still learning and has a long way ahead! So today I´m posting our "weapons of choice" to create The Soul Chaser (and all our co...

Do you need help on storytelling?

Disclaimer: "I want to first say that this isn't the only way to go about doing a story and you are free and willingly to do something else. Everything that I post about comicking or storytelling is just helpful tips that I want to share that worked for me. I know that this won't work for everyone else but for those who mind's work the way mine does, when it comes to comicking, I though that I should at least share it. Again you are not forced to do things this way nor am I claiming this is t...
