Wip first page of my upcoming sonic fan comic
Wip first page of my upcoming sonic fan comic I just finished the first panel of the 12 page prologue of my upcoming fan comic. Figured I'd upload a photo of it to show a step-by-step process and how I am at pencilling for comics. (I want to be a penciller in the comics industry). Even though there aren't any characters yet in this wip preview, Sonic the Hedgehog franchise is the property of Sega. Sparkle the Hedgehog is my sonic fan character. The tentative title of my Sonic fan comic is: "Chaos Ultimate." Or should it be "Ultimate Chaos?" I like the "Chaos Ultimate" one better for some reason. Has a different feeling to the title than the second version. What do you think?

  • Ashikai Profile 2 hours ago Ashikai became a fan of A Tip for Artist Alley Shoppers.
A Tip for Artist Alley Shoppers So you’ll find a lot of journals and blogs for artists helping them in concerns to setting up and selling their art at conventions. I thought I would do something like that in but instead aim it towards the shoppers buy throwing out to them an easy to do piece of advice. There are a lot of artists that go to conventions to promote their artwork through various fanarts, but there are also a lot of artists that go there both to do that as well as intending to promote their original works and comics/manga as well. So it can be pretty disheartening when customers will overlook their work and only go gaga or make comments on a Naruto print they made for the convention. Now I’m not gonna start saying don’t buy fanart, only buy original stuff, that would be silly as fanart of your favourite series draw by one of your favourite artists is no doubt cool. But when in artist ally and you find artists that you like or are impressed with, be sure to ask them one thing before you move on to the next table. “Do you have any original prints from your own series?” It’s a simple enough question that takes hardly any effort to ask, but for the artist being asked that question it is really one of the greatest questions you can get at a convention.  A lot of artists may respond with ‘no’ or with a surprised ‘I do have original stuff, but I didn’t bother printing them because I didn’t think anyone would want it =O’ While some will go ‘Why yes I do!’ and show you what they have. Sometimes they’ll have prints, a website link to give you with their originals, and sometimes they’ll even printed comics or manga!! You don’t have to buy it if you don’t like it (but if you do like it feel free to show your support and get it), but honestly someone showing interest in the artists work aside from fanart is not only really great for them to hear, but really motivating when it comes to the artists that do work on series and need that extra push to assure them that what they are doing is great and interesting to people, especially at this time of the year when artists are using conventions to promote their work, as believe it or not it can be really taxing on a lot of artists that work really hard on their own stuff only to have a picture they drew of Luffy in their free time be the only thing talked about at their table. I know too many artists that have just outright stopped working on original pieces because it was becoming a ‘waste of time’ because their fanarts would sell so much better at conventions, and now thats ALL they ever sell at conventions and it’s really sad, because they had so much ambition and so many ideas when they first started out x.x So yeah, next time to go to your convention’s artist alley, be sure to ask of they have some original work there. You may be treated with some absolutely beautiful pieces that won’t have a recognizable face, but could turn into a character you’ll wanna know the story behind.
