Velcome!
This is the forum for Two Keys. Feel free to discuss!

The world of Two Keys is inspired by the book "Sunshine" by Robin McKinnley for her world, but in a fairly superficial way. I love her book and I love her world, but the big differences is that in the world of Two Keys, there are no vampires. Well, maybe there are, but if there are they aren't very important.

If hazarded a mashup for example's sake, I'd call Two Keys a cross between Sunshine, Pushing Daisies, and RocknRolla.

Wow, what a mashup!

Hi, I just read the three chapters posted here and I must say I'm impressed. I loved the art, and the story is definitely addictive. It immerses you in an unknown world casually, unlike most fantasy/sci-fi/whatever-you-wanna-call-it comics I've read until now, where those new aspects are just forcefully thrust into the story.

I'm definitely going to keep reading Two Keys, I'm convinced it'll turn out to be even more awesome than it already is (actually, I thought of writing an epic end of a comment here, but I just couldn't find a better way to express my thoughts XD).

Thank-you so much! I hope we don't disappoint!
It is a lot of setup, and almost none of the plot has been revealed yet, but it'll come!

Yeah, I'm totally with Claire! (I'm so cheap)

I really like all your works! And this work is wonderful! I liked all the mashup! I think it's just fine how the things are developing now. I love the way you tell stories! I'll be waiting patiently for the new release.

Have fun at the convention!

I just read all four chapters and I find that I can't wait for more. I love the art style and the characters are really interesting. The story itself is a complete mystery and I feel that I've finally found a good manga that isn't even remotely predictable. I hope to see more soon.

I haven't read Sunshine, i am not much of a novel kind of person.Probably because i do a lot of time to finish reading a book and if i also add that to my hobbies then i would have no personal life at all.
Anyway, i would like to ask the following:From manga/anime the only similar either in atmosphere, setting plot and characters are 1)Monster 2)Blood Alone 3)Yougen no Chi (We are talking for a seinen of course).Probably the Japanese are not much of a fan of this kind at least on manga and anime (i don't have a clue about their literature).Since you are from America, can you recommend any similar comix as an alternative to Two keys?
Thanks in advance.Keep up the good work.

Hm... As far as comic books go, maybe something like Fell and Hellblazer? I've also taken lots of cues from Akira and Marginal, so those might be worth looking into. And of course, there's Pluto, 20th Century Boys, and Billy Bat, which are all fantastic.

Oh my God, since the very beginning reading the manga I'd always been like, man, this is a lot like Sunshine--which is my favorite book of all time. And then I come on here and there you go saying it inspired it! Insanity! Well, I totally got what you were putting into it.

Panos, the closest I can probably think of in terms of anime/manga is probably The Big O (in Noir-ish feel and mysterious characters), though it's Mecha, not Urban Fantasy. Possibly Darker than Black might be similar-ish, just replace Occult with Contractors (like psychics) and you can see the similarities, urban setting, conspiracies, mysterious events in the past, not to mention it's just a Badass anime. Not actually a lot of straight-up, traditional Urban fantasy as we know it in Japanese Manga and Anime, like you said. Psychics, yes, 'magic' no, unless it's full on Fantasy or a shounen series, and even so it's more likely to involve things like spirits or yokai. Despite that however, and the fact that these manga aren't really closely related in terms of content, in terms of tone or feel, maybe, I'd recommend them as similar: Ilegenes, Until Death Do Us Part, XS Hybrid, and Arago. But that's just my opinion. (Also, I love Blood Alone! Did you like it?)

And Hey, Chloe and Aliena, I just read Honeydew Syndrome and I loved it so much ! *Is a yaoi fangirl.* You guys Naono Bohra fans at all? This gives me hope for Colin/Lucas slash. *maniacal grin*

I love Sunshine too! I'm JUST rereading it again, it's my favorite comfort book, right up there with Summers at Castle Auburn. I wish she expanded on the world more cause it felt very rich to me, and I couldn't stop thinking about things that could happen, hence... Two Keys.

And thanks for reading HS! As for Colin and Lucas... Well, I guess you'll just have to see. ;D

I had watched Darker than Black (1st season) 3 years ago and i rewatched it and continued with the second season not even a month before.1st season is one of my best anime but nothing reaches my favorite Ergo Proxy.2nd season was average and created more questions!Blood alone is pretty good, but it has to get little more serious and needs a bigger arc.
I have to sometime start with 20th century boys. That author writes only successes since he has also written Monster.
Thanks for the info.I will see to it.
