Music and artwork always seem to go hand-in-hand, and a lot of people listen to a lot of music while they draw.

What types do you all tend to listen to, particularly when working? Do you listen to certain music when working on certain things (ex: I have a playlist specifically for when I draw Demise)? I'm quite curious, as there's lots of interesting series here that could take on a lot of different genres ;D

I go through obsessions with certain songs/artists/soundtracks. Currently I'm listening to a lot of music from the Homestuck albums, but before that it was the X-Men: First Class soundtrack and before that it was the Korean band CN Blue and before that ... Arai Akino's music I think? Her songs are very beautiful and sort of calming.

On the whole I think I tend to prefer instrumental music, since lyrics occasionally distract me from what I'm doing. I don't listen to particular music for particular projects except inasmuch as certain projects and certain obsession coincide.

I have a bunch of differant artists I listen to and I get weird combinations with who I listen too for inspiration. From anywhere to anime/video game soundtracks, to muse, the killers, broken bells, Queen, Lady Gaga, Foster the People, The Beatles, R.E.M., Death cab for cutie I really could go on for hours on this one.

I started listening to music early in my teens, I started with slipknot but soon discovered a band named Dir en Grey and have been in love ever since. Now I listen mainly to Dir en Grey, Aicle, Luna Sea, FACT, SiM and other jrock groups.

I use to listen my favourite bands, which are mainly darkwave, goth or electronic avantgarde style. Those are Deine Lakaien and Depeche Mode -the ones I relate most to "Badirfilay", specially my character Valdemar.
But those usually go with some other in my mp3 playlist... Sisters of Mercy, Ladytron, Untoten and some classical too.

But when I work very late at night (like in this very moment) I rather prefer to listen to random music in some online radio like Freqüence Banane (alternative, oldies, a bit of everything), Hazzard of Darkness (ebm, goth, darkwave, 80s...) or some classical music themed radio. Sometimes some speech radio, they are a good company at night.

Daft Punk. Love love love Daft Punk... And Polskie. Soundtracks (Hans Zimmer, Steven Jablonsky...). I try not to listen to English lyrics too much, because it's really distracting but if it's in another language I'm fine. lol

I always put my player on shuffle, and I like a lot of different bands, however music and TV really influence me when drawing and when I look again at a picture or page I made while listening to a song, it automatically reminds me of the music.

I could probably link a video of an anime thing I like, or I can put up the full version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nwRSv7uWjQ

Known as the theme song to Texhnolyse.

Depending on the genre I'm reading it can range. If I'm reading shounen comics I'm listening to game music. If I'm reading supernatural comics I listen to Nox Arcana. If I'm doing my own stuff it's got to be upbeat and keep me in the zone while I scribble each page. I'm a picky person XD or rather my narcissistic muse is a picky creature to work with.
