I might try to start a series here, I don't know... A friend of mine and I were thinking and planning a collabo series for quite awhile and thought about releasing it here. Or I might make the series by myself, I'm not sure. But right now I just wanted to get some feedback on what genre out of this list do you all want to read the most. It's kind of like this thread but I only have genre that my friend and I can write and draw well.

As far as demographics [josei, shounen, seinen, shoujo, etc], I'll be following the results of that poll link I gave above.

And please suggest any more genres and I'll add them! Just not MM prohibited genres [hentai, yaoi, yuri, bara, gore etc.]

Ahh it only lets me pick one~.

I chose historical, because I don't see many people doing that and I think it would be challenging and fun to create, and to read~.

It kind of saddens me that you listed BL and GL as genres, though... Although I'm a huuuge supporter of lgbtq manga and the like, have they really become genres in their own right rather than just additional themes? That's a whole other debate though. If I hadn't chosen historical, I'd have picked comedy or psychological. A psychological historical manga would be a really good read, actually~. Good luck..!

I'm sorry I offended you, but I just followed the preset genres... I don't have anything against lgbt manga and in fact I read some myself [I'm a huge fan of Junko ;w;]. GL and BL are considered genres, as well as straight love [another option on the poll]. They all fall under the umbrella term of romance but they are considered separate genres on their own [in Japan, GL and BL mainly go under another umbrella term called "homo" though]. I'm not really sure what you mean by additional theme, but GL, BL, and straight are separated genres because some people can be offended by reading GL or BL so it's a way of identification for them. Likewise overseas, some people feel uncomfortable reading GL and BL so they have to be identified as so. But thank you for your suggestions!

Agh don't worry! You didn't cause me any offense. @ @~~~ my bringing it up I suppose was more me making a point of my disdain 'is that really what it's come to'? Mainly I suppose it's because I see too many manga under those genres follow the same storyline, with maybe one of a combination of ten character types combined up to make the main character, yeah? I agree with the way of identification though, and concede. I guess it's just a shame that they don't have a little more of a broad categorization. I see a lot of people (*coughsmackjeevescough*) create BL manga.. And the entire point of the plot consists of "these are two bishie guys. they exist. what happens when they fall in love for no apparent reason!??!?!" (actually those kind of manga can come off as kind of unmeaningly offensive at times ^ ^; )

Of course I'm not accusing you of potentially doing that, so please don't think I am! (SENSIBLE PEOPLE SAVE THE REP OF THESE 'GENRES' for lack of a better term!) By additional theme, I just meant something along the lines of "this manga is in the scifi genre. it just happens to also contain yuri themes.. Or something~. Though by all means on a side note, strange love never fails to make an interesting theme in historical type manga~... /rambling

psychological drama horror comedy + tragical romance all together. oh, wait. that's what i am working on xD

i think it is quite hard to balance too many genres, but once there is a balance, i believe the story can become one of the best on this site. sadly i see here mostly shoujo and clear naruto-like stuff, all action around with destined to be great kids...

psychological is a great genre but is is really hard to succeed in it. same with horror.

i hope to see there something like Code Geass, it is a great mix of genres and amazing story though idea isn't all that new.

and i haven't seen yet anything about zombies(only ideas).

bring me some post-apocalyptic world.

that's all what i miss the most here

I chose psychological, but specifically I like Psychological Cyberpunk Horror. (Or anything similar.) I've never been real wild about fantasy, as I can't create a willing suspension of disbelief in magic.
