Big fan here, my fave being VII. VI was also great.
Yeah I noticed a lot of people are joining...this place might be even more popular than smackjeeves
I'm 26.
Okay, so Im planning to get a new computer, but Im not sure what kind to get...whats a good computer to get if you plan on
installing Photoshop and Manga Studio and will use them both for art?

I do have a story but Im revamping it because I feel it needs improvement art-wise before I decide to submit it. Im also doing a script(Never did one before) but that isnt easy lol.

I had the same question in mind before submitting my work here. I suggest to keep it at 56 pages, do not split the 56-page chapter 1 into smaller chapters unless you can summarize it to lessen the pages. If you split it, the intro of your story would be messed up.

My manga is intended to have 60+ pages for chapter 1 but I thought splitting it into 3 chapters of 15-20 pages each would be good enough, so I submitted the first 2 chapters (36 pages) and ended up being rejected. The reason, the thought is quite incomplete.

Lesson learned, do not split your chapter 1. The first chapter is the important foundation of your work so if having a 56-page chapter 1 will explain what your story is all about then work hard on those pages and keep them together.

A word of advice: Do not focus on the number of pages, focus on how to tell the readers what your work is all about in chapter 1. Who are the characters, what would their goals be and a brief hint of the conflict. Make it clear and there wouldn't be any problems. Manga is not about the quantity, its about quality. >:]

Best of luck to you!

Thats good advice. I will learn from this.
How long do you want the series to be?
We prefer series that go at least 36 chapters.

From the FAO of the Prospective Author section.

Is it possible to have a story with more than 36 chapters on MM? Is that the limit?
I was wondering if any of the authors on here got their work copyrighted before submitting to the magazine? Im thinking about submitting work, but I want to make sure if I need to get my stuff copyrighted first before I do submit.
